"Scrip" refers to a fundraising program used by schools, churches, and nonprofit organizations to raise money. It involves selling gift cards or certificates from various retailers and businesses. When supporters purchase scrip from the organization at face value, a percentage of the purchase price (typically between 1% to 15%) is retained by the organization as revenue. The remaining amount is used by the purchaser as a gift card or certificate at the specified retailer or business.

For example, if a supporter buys a $100 scrip card for a grocery store through the school's scrip program, the school might receive $4 (4% of $100) from the grocery store, and the supporter can use the $100 card at the grocery store just like cash.

Scrip programs are popular because they allow organizations to raise funds without requiring supporters to spend extra money beyond their regular shopping expenses. ASCS Scrip Policy

ASCS sponsors a Scrip program which allows its families to purchase Scrip. The Scrip you purchase through the program generates rebates from participating retailers. These rebates can be used as a credit to the Annual Family Fee assessed as part of the total amount due from the school families each academic year.
